GLAUCOMA SPECIALIST
Dr Renuka Bathija is our Glaucoma Specialist and has been consulting at Cheltenham since 1998. Dr Bathija graduated from Bombay University in 1988 before commencing ophthalmic studies in Melbourne. She undertook her Glaucoma Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego in 1996 before returning to Melbourne. Dr Bathija is available on Fridays and some Mondays at the clinic.

Dr AHMED HASSAN

GENERAL OPHTHALMOLOGIST
Dr Hassan is a Melbourne University graduate who has been with Cheltenham Eye Centre since completing his Ophthalmology training in 2005. He is very enthusiastic and interested in all aspects of General Ophthalmology and is a consultant at Monash Medical Centre, teaching Cataract and Paediatric Eye Surgery to trainee surgeons. He has travelled to Burma and Ethiopia performing volunteer cataract surgery and served with the Flying Doctor Service for 6 months providing eyecare to remote Central Australian communities.

Dr DAMIEN LOUIS

MEDICAL RETINAL SPECIALIST
Dr Damien Louis is a Medial Retinal Ophthalmologist at The Cheltenham Eye Centre. Dr Louis monitors and treats Age Related Macular Degeneration and assesses Diabetic Retinal Disease regularly. She consults at our clinic on Monday mornings, Thursday afternoons and one Wednesday morning every month.

GENERAL OPHTHALMOLOGIST
Dr Markwick consults exclusively at the Cheltenham Eye Centre and is a member of our general Ophthalmologist team. His practice encompasses all aspects of eye disease but he has a particular interest in the systemic and neurological associations of eye problems. He is at the Cheltenham Eye Center 4 days a week.
Dr JULIAN MAZZETTI

GENERAL OPHTHALMOLOGIST
Dr Julian Mazzetti has consulted at the Cheltenham Eye Centre since 1987 as a member of our General Ophthalmologist team. He graduated from Melbourne University in 1972 before beginning his fellowship at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. He is available regularly on Wednesdays and Thursdays in our rooms.
Dr KIRA MICHALOVA

MEDICAL RETINAL SPECIALIST
Dr Kira Michalova graduated from Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) and has Ophthalmology experience in the Czech Republic, United States and New Zealand. Dr Michalova specializes in treatment
of Age related macular degeneration and diabetic retinal disease. She is also fluent in Czech, Slovak and Serbo-Croatian. Dr Michalova consults at the Cheltenham Eye Centre on Tuesdays. MORE DETAILS
Dr DAVID VAN DER STRAATEN

EYE SPECIALIST & SURGEON
Dr David Van Der Straaten undertook a Fellowship in Oculo Plastics and lacrimal surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Womens’ Hospital. He joined the clinic in 2007 and he performs surgery for cataract,
lacrimal including endonasal DCR and eyelid disorders at Como Private Hospital and Victoria Parade Surgical Centre. He consults at The Cheltenham Eye Centre on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Dr JONATHON YEOH

MEDICAL RETINA & VITREORETINAL SURGEON
Dr Jonathan Yeoh is a Vitreoretinal surgeon and medical retinal specialist. He undertook his basic ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. He has trained in Vitreoretinal surgery and medical retina both at the RVEEH and at Moorfields eye hospital in London. Dr Yeoh consults at The Cheltenham Eye Centre on Fridays. MORE DETAILS |
