Laser Vision Correction Information

Your first consultation

If you think you will benefit from laser eye surgery the next step is to set up an appointment for a pre-operative consultation.

Your eyesight will be thoroughly tested to determine which laser procedure is right for you. There is no charge to you for this examination and you are under no obligation to go ahead with treatment.

When you arrive at the laser eye surgery you will be shown an information videotape that explains the procedure and how it is performed.

You will then undergo specialised testing to establish your current spectacle correction.

Topographer A computer generated map of your eye will then be taken. After the mapping procedure your eyes will be checked for possible health problems that might prevent or delay treatment.

During this examination the benefits and possible side effects of laser eye surgery will be explained, and any questions you might have about the procedure will be answered. Every care will be taken to make sure that you understand the full process and are able to make an informed decision about whether laser vision correction is the right option for you.

Vision consultation appointments can be made at any of our NewVision Laser Eye Clinics at East Melbourne, Windsor or Cheltenham.

After hours and Saturday appointments are available. Special arrangements can also be made for interstate or country patients.
