Rural / Interstate Patient Care

Assessing suitability

For those patients living in rural areas or where access to NewVision Clinics Melbourne is not convenient, we can send a pre-operative form to your local optometrist who can provide the information we require to consider your suitability for laser eye surgery.

If you are a suitable laser eye surgery candidate, based on the report from your optometrist, we can book a full examination and perform the laser procedure that same day.

Postoperative care

Whilst we do require a check up in one of our Melbourne Clinics the morning following your surgery, your local optometrist can carry out all follow-ups after this. If you do not have a local optometrist we can recommend suitable practitioners for you.

For patients undergoing Advanced PRK laser eye surgery, your local optometrist is asked to monitor your eyes on day 2 and 3 following surgery and remove the bandage contact lens. They will keep us updated as to your progress and, in the unlikely event of any issues, we are always available to liaise with them and yourself.

If you’d like to find out more about laser eye surgery at NewVision Clinics call us now. We’ll answer any questions you have and help you take your first step to a new world of vision.
